Improve your birdwatching skills and your birding experience by learning some essential tools and techniques over this 4 part programme. Be a better birdwatcher follows on from the ‘Tools of the Trade’ session held earlier in the year. Part 1 helps you to assess your own binocular skills and provides tools and techniques to help you find birds with speed and accuracy. You’ll learn about the limitations of your binoculars when dealing with different weather conditions and how to overcome them. You’ll also learn about how to start identifying birds in the field by understanding the parts of the bird, how to take good notes and what to look for. Price £15 per person . Transport No transport. Meet at Hollybush Conservation Centre at 19:00. What to expect Indoor sessions take place in the Hollybush TCV classroom . Classes last 2 hours with refreshments at 20:00. Toilets are available at the centre. Note for beginners These sessions are aimed at those new to birdwatching or anyone who would like to increase their understanding of the hobby. What to wear The classroom can get a little chilly at times so dress warmly. Join me on more events and learn about each bird’s story whether it migrates or stays in the UK the time of year when it can be seen the types of habitats preferred by different species how birds adapt to their environment.
