Friday Birdwatchers: Mickletown Ings

This week’s 2 hour birdwatching class will be held at Mickletown Ings and St Aidan’s in the Lower Aire Valley. We start at 10am after an optional breakfast at Rivers Meet Café from 9am. £15 per person.

You’ll quickly learn the birdwatching basics

• how to use your binoculars with speed and accuracy
• where birds can be found in your field guide.

You’ll be given tips to help you identify birds and you’ll be taught some useful techniques for watching birds in the field. With practise, you’ll also be able to identify birds by their songs and calls.

You’ll also learn about each bird’s story

• whether it migrates or stays in the UK; when it can be seen
• the types of habitats preferred by different species
• how birds adapt to their environment.

• St Aidan’s

Each session costs £15 per person (excluding optional breakfast) or block book to save money.
Beginners and more experienced birders welcome.
You’ll receive a bird list after each outing, useful handouts and a chance to see birds through a high powered telescope.
